Welcome

Charlie GoodmanThe 2009 Marin Sonoma Concours d’Elegance event was more than we could have ever expected. We had 226 car entrants and over 5,000 spectators. First, I would like to thank all the generous people that we’re involved in making this event a truly great one!

For years I have envisioned of bringing a Concours to the Marin and Sonoma area and with the help of all the committee members: Gary Cohen, John Nirenstein, Martin Swig, Melissa Prandi, Jack Damato, Gil Gilfix, Mogens Bach, Steve Bajor, Al Boro, Dave Devlin, Bob Capurro, Brian Douglas, Mark Essman, Pete Herley, Jack L. Hunt, Kurt Fischer, Alan Spencer, Michael Mackintosh, and Gary Phillips, we were able to bring to life, my dream of gathering great vintage cars from all around the bay area, and bring them together to put on a great show for everyone.

I am very excited to be working on the Second Annual 2010 Marin Sonoma Concours d’Elegance. I am also announcing 2010’s marque, the Porsche. We are going to have 17 new and exciting classes. We are also going to have an area for commercial vehicles and a wooden boat exhibit.

All proceeds from the 2010 Marin Sonoma Concours d’ Elegance will benefit Hospice By The Bay. I am very excited by our association with this long time community based hospice. Since 1975 this non-profit organization has been providing hospice and palliative care services for patients and their caregivers during the final stages of life.

I invite you bring your family and join us in a homage to the past and a vision of the future of the automobile industry. Come see the cars of your youth beautifully restored. Come see my vision for automobiles as “art in motion.” It is guaranteed to be a day that will make you smile!
